Jeffrey Nguyen is a first year Masters student with the Health, Humanities, and Medicine program at UT Austin. His research interests are focused on how factors of intersectionality such as race, gender, and sexuality affect the rhetoric used within the healthcare field. Specifically, he is currently investigating how stories told between physicians, patients, and legislators lead to the development of mental healthcare for gender and sexual minorities. He volunteers with the SOGI lab to explore and help amplify the voices of LGBTQ+ youth found in scientific data in hopes of preparing for a future career in psychiatry for adolescents.
