The Generations study is the first long-term study to examine health and well-being across three generations of lesbians, gay men, and bisexuals (LGB). This five year study explores identity, stress, health outcomes, and health care and services utilization among LGBs in three generations of adults who came of age during different historical contexts.
The first phase of the Generations study is currently underway. Researchers have already begun to invite individuals who reside in the San Francisco, CA, New York, NY, Tucson, AZ and Austin, TX areas to share their unique life experiences.
The Generations study is being conducted by researchers at the Williams Institute, University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC), University of Arizona, and Columbia University. The study is affiliated with the California Center for Population Research (CCPR) at UCLA. A distinguished advisory board of scientists was also appointed for study quality assurance.
