In this article we examine the National Longitudinal Study of Adolescent Health (the Add Health Study) and its contributions to providing positive perspectives on adolescent sexuality. We focus on research that utilizes the Add Health Study data, with particular attention paid to ways that it can be further utilized to increase our understanding of positive sexuality development. We suggest avenues for future research that include experimentation with measurement strategies and additional investigation of adolescent romance. Such work could lead to the identification of characteristics and experiences that define sexually resilient adolescents.
