SOGI Lab researchers published a study in the Journal of Adolescent Health regarding the health impacts of chosen name use (a name different from the one given at birth).  Based on one of the largest available community samples of transgender youth, this study found that using chosen names reduces mental health risks like depression and suicidal risk in transgender youth.
